Calley sat in a hospital bed, shivering and then sweating as hot and cold flashes tore through her already illness ravenged body. She gasped out as the dramatic temperatures came and went. Her fever was off the charts!! She, in all honesty, thought she was going to die.
A nurse came in and looked at the temperature readings. Shaking her head, she said, "I don't understand how you can stand this fever. Anyone else would be in terrible pain. Miss, do you want me to call anyone for you?"
"Yes," Calley said as a flash of chill subsided. "My boyfriend, Switch." She gave the nurse his cell phone number. Her voice was getting softer.
